Open Question: Air force Phoenix Raven school?

I am in the Navy at a mobile security unit. Here we are given the option to go to this school. I am considering it, but I do not know what to expect. Not many people at my command know too much about it, other than the fitness requirements which I do currently meet. I know the basic of what the course is about, but I would like to know more details. I would also like to know the length, and how difficult it is supppose to be. My command is trying to find more people who can do this and I am interested, I would just like a few more details from some one who has been there or maybe someone in or who was in the Air Force who might know more about it. I have done aome research on the internet, but i would like to hear from someone with some personal experience with it.

Ok so a little background info before I start: I am a college freshman, weigh 185 lbs. Been working out for around 4 years 2 years of which being serious. I started seeing physical results last year but up till now I have been stagnant in terms of how much weight I can lift, and physical results (how I look) I workout 5-6 days a week, I lift heavy but nothing serious. I thought about trying to gain muscle and losing weight at the same time but that was close to impossible from what I heard. Any tips or advice you guys can give me based off my situation? As I said, I am a college freshman so money

I go to these every opportunity I have but I work retail and cant always make it. So any time I miss a class I work out at home. Its always the same but its not very long. I start by running .6 miles (at this time that's every i can do because I live in a very hilly neighborhood and I have to push myself to receive to the end as it is) then I finish with three sets of 10 sit ups, left and right side oblique crunches, lying leg lifts, push up and dips. Getting a flat stomach is my goal, I have been doing this three weeks and people say I look skinnier but it is definitely not going quick enough for me. Any suggestions?

Open Question: I got a 3month deal of service form a company n wana cancel payments thru my bank, am i obligated to pay?

I just signed up for a membership at La fitness and got a personal training packaged. I got a 3 month package that is going to cost $552 a month for 12 half hour work out sessions. The more I am thinking about this the more I think I got ripped off! That breaks down to about $90 an hour which is not a deal like they claimed and if I knew that's how it was going to break down when I bought the package I would've never got it and went to A LOT nicer gym and paid the same thing! So my question is: if I go to my bank and tell them not to let any charges go through from La Fitness, can La fitness report that to a credit agency?? Am I obligated to pay that no matter what??

Open Question: How is white rice fattening if a big majority Asians are thin?

I know in Asia they eat smaller portions and their food is more fresh without chemicals, but how is rice fattening? In fitness articles, they always reccommend to not eat white rice because it is fattening, the carbohydrates can easily turn into fat. But people in Asia eat rice every day, it is a huge part of their diet, and rarely do you look anyone fat. My family is Asian, and we eat rice a lot but we're not fat. Maybe one cousin of mine is and that's about it. I want to eat healthier but it is difficult to eat without rice. I don't like brown!!

Open Question: Same results from elliptical trainer and treadmill?

Hello! Well, I have both a treadmill and elliptical trainer. Also have an exercise bike and weights and stuff. I do indoor workouts cuz I live in a bad area. I used to just do the treadmill for up to 30mins at a run around 5 days a week but I find endurance really, really difficult and I feel like I don't have the best lung capacity and often find it difficult to breathe (even while not exercising) It was raining the other day and risky to use a plugged in treadmill so I tried the elliptical trainer, it hurt my legs at first but now it's really comfortable and also great to watch a movie while exercising. I want to know if the elliptical will give you the same results as a treadmill? I'm not really in it to lose weight, I'm a healthy weight. Just to stay fit. I will still do the treadmill when it's winter probably (it's the middle of summer) but for now is the elliptical okay to stick by for fitness? Thanks xx

Open Question: Started going to the gym recently and need help with some exercise/nutrition questions...?

Im a 23 year old female, weighing 202lbs at 5'5 and although Im pretty well proportioned, I carry most of my weight in my stomach. (Yes, I know that isn't "healthy" although I don't have high blood pressure or other health issues.) My goal is to lose around 50-60lbs and tone up, especially in my stomach area. Well, a few days ago I signed up for the 24 hour fitness close to where I live and although I've gone twice, I would like to figure out a routine that I can do to benefit me the most... So far I've been walking to the gym, which is a little over 2 miles away, doing an additional 10-15 minutes on the treadmill once I receive there then 20+ reps on a few of the leg machines(the first day) and today I did the same with my arms. What should I add or change? To go along with that, I know I need to eat healthier but again, I dont know what will benefit me. One of the employees was explaining to me about balancing meals, eating every two hours, eating lots of fiber and protein and no carbs or sugars after 6pm but I still dont know how many carbs, proteins, fibers, etc. that I can and SHOULD eat. I wish I've explained this well, but if not, I will answer any questions you need answered. Thanks in advanced. :)

Open Question: Should I drop Biology and take Gym instead?

Do Universities look at grade 11 marks/subjects in Canada? My average right now is in the high 80's, and I'm in grade 11. Two of my courses are art and personal fitness. The other two are English (college lvl) and Law. This semester I'm taking Math, English (University lvl), Chemistry, and Biology. I'm thinking of dropping Bio and doing gym instead. The reason is because I'm going to be having a lot of home work and I did not just want to have a free period, so every just take gym for an easy credit. Will universities look at this and say my average is only high because I took easy course's? These are the course's I'm taking and the mark I got: English (College lvl)...80+ Law...85+ PF...85+ Art...85+ I haven't started my second semester yet, But I plan to work difficult and maintain a 80+ average English (University lvl) Chemistry Biology or gym Math Would I still look good on paper if I drop Bio for gym? The careers I'm look at are Police Officer, Lawyer, and Accountant.

Open Question: Build me a diet and exercise plan...?

Hello, what I am asking for will take a lot of thought to conjure up. I want you to use your exercise and dieting experience to build me an excercise and diet plan. I know the main thing, NO CARBS. I will write down every the information about me and what exercise equipment I have. There is a lot to read, so please read it every in order to help me, this is a serious situation. My body and me: - I weigh 300 pounds. - I am 5' 9''. - I am a male. - I used to play a lot of rugby when I was younger, and I am naturally "stocky", so I carry a lot of muscle on my shoulders, neck, back, quads and calfs. - I mainly have fat around my chest, stomach and at the back of my legs. - I lack willpower, so I need advice on how to keep going. - I find it impossible to do any jogging or running right now, I am too heavy. My ankles and knees become extremely painful, however, if I lost 50 pounds and gained some fitness, I could start jogging. What exercise equipment is in my home: - Indoor cycle-bike. - Dumbells. - Sit-up apparatus. - Treadmill (but you can't weigh more than 230 pounds to use it) - Exercise ball (but you can't weigh more than 230 pounds to use it) - tiny plastic dumbell weights. - Weightlifting gym. - Purchasing a rowing machine next week. What I want to achieve: - Lose 120 pounds (Could I achieve this in 8 months?) - Lose "man boobs" I have. - Become healthier. Diet: What times should I eat? How many meals per day? Cheapest method to purchase food? I live in the UK. I honestly, hate vegetables, I can stand some such as brocolli, sweetcorn, peas. I like fruit, can eat everything fruitwise. I drink a lot of diet pepsi, should I cease this immediately? I just really want to lose a little weight before I am 18 which is in June, and lose 120 pounds by Christmas. I am sick of my weight now, I want to be able to buy clothes that fit me, I want a lady in my life who will find me attractive, I want to feel more confident and I want to be more healthy. I think I can hold out of the willpower, the only problem is purchasing the food, my parents are tight on cash and I can't afford spending half my pay cheque on food. I work 9-6pm on Mon-Fri, so I do not have much of a time zone to workout. Please help me with a regime, any other advice is welcome. Thanks.

Open Question: How does MDMA affect your body (post use)?

Ok everyone knows that after using ecstasy it will effect your mood and serotonin levels, etc. I dont want to know about the psychological side of it. I want to know about the physical side of MDMA use on the body after use. When I say after use I dont mean while actually high I mean for the following days/weeks/months. So my scenario is I have been training difficult for a few weeks. Ive been swimming and doing boxing almost daily since xmas to receive fit. For the same time Ive given up cigarettes so Ive done well. Last Wednesday night I swam 1km in lots of 200m freestyle which is my best effort to date, not great but for me it is. So then on Thursday I did not train at every and had 3 pills of med-high strength ecstasy pills. Got munted nicely. Friday day and into friday night had 5 pills and didnt train again. Saturday just recovered and was more or less exhausted. Sunday still exhausted and wake up with a sore back. Today (monday) back still a little sore but managed to loosen it up enough and just went for a swim in the pool. So today I could only manage doing 100m freestyle with a break and total of 600m and was totally worn out. Felt like I could faint and was dizzy. I cant believe that my fitness has decreased so much in so little time. Is this normal for the body to lose so much fitness after just consuming 8 pills and a few days off? Does anyone know if MDMA use can affect cardio fitness or not?
